Summer's End

With only a few more weeks left of summer break..you can smell the scent of notebook paper and brand new clothes. For my girls, this means uniforms. As we invade target trying despriately to find the right size and style to fit my teeny tiny daughter's waist..I think about how happy I am to return to a normal routine, full of predictablity and security. I am a planner, I do like to be spontaneous about some things (dinner, ect.) but not when it comes to the school year. I have to admit, I was a little nerved about spending 3 months with my kids, Oh I absolutely love them to pieces, but how in the world was I going to keep them busy the whole summer? We are a one income household, I don't have tons of money to waste..I had to get pretty creative to keep my kiddo's busy. We managed well. They went swimming @ their pa-pa's house, we went to visit lots of friends and their kids, spent time in the mall indoor playarea..and hopefully will be making a last blast trip to sea world soon. I think they had a pretty good summer. I did. I am looking forward to the many homework sessions, packing lunchboxes, and signing papers...ahh they grow up so fast!

Camp Schmamp

Yeah..so my hubby and I wanted to do something special for Kirsten this summer since she did so great at school this year. Usually she would go to Shoshannah for Summer Camp, but since they closed we looked elsewhere. I was elated when i found out JU had a "Fine Arts" camp ..JU is where most of the dance teachers at shoshannah went. Lets just say ... I am NOT impressed. This is the first year back (they got rid of the summer camp for a while) so i expected some things needed to be "tweeked" . The campers had to take a VERY LONG walk to the pool and back for 3 days of the 5. (they didn't swim the first and last day) I didn't realize HOW long this walk was until i picked her up this past tuesday at the pool. I was so upset! maybe I am overreacting..but i just felt like this was way too far..also, the first week, my daughters art project was taken home by another camper..(she was hurt, cause she worked hard on it) the BRILLIANT art teacher didn't have them put their names on it! They changed the schedule around several days..so much that Kirsten didn't get to learn the dance she was to "perform" on the last day of camp..so she didn't even want to go. ARRRUUUGGGG! I just wish these people did a little more planning and a little less playing. could have avoided wasting 500$$ for camp schmamp!

Got some catching up to do...

In the business of my life..I lost my pass word to get on here and blog away...so, I'm back..with avengence..hehe :) well..we finished up school..(well, Kirsten did anyway) with strait A's! yeah!! so proud of her..then we went full throttle into "Dance Recital Mode" I tell you what, if you aren't in shape..after this crazy week, you'll look like Denise Austin! We were terribly sad this time though..cause a legacy came to an end. :( But, on the flip side another is beginning..and we are excited for that. Shoshannah Arts (where Kirsten has been dancing for the last 3 years) was also owned by a personal friend of mine..through much prayer ..she decided to close. However, God was on her side..and a NEW LEGACY was formed..I am so happy to have this opportunity for Kirsten. It is so important to me that she be taught not only the technical part of dance (which is very important) but also the Spiritual. Useing her talents to glorify God! so amazing. anyway..we are on full speed ahead with summer, trying to stay busy and do as much as possible to keep from boredom! Kirsten is finishing up fine arts camp at JU and then on to more liesurely stuff.. the beach, the library, the pool..anything to keep them busy!! David and I celebrated our 9th Anniversary! yeah!! we made it! (at times it was touch and go..) but we are here..getting stronger every day.. well.. i'll store my password and be back later to fill you in on our summer of fun and dodgeing rain storms :) oh.. i guess i should give a little background on the above picture..I decided for our anniversary that we should renew our vows..this is a picture from that moment..it was a surprise for david (i can't believe i pulled off!) anyway..it was a very sweet and intimate moment..only my mom was there to take some pics and video for us. The pastor is Dr. Fox, he is the actual person who did our ceremony when we got married..i have known him for years..and that spot was the spot we got married, in that church..(the church looked different back in 98') so, that's the story of the pic..see ya soon!

Intro

okay, i already blog a little on myspace..but, i thought i would try this out for those of you who want to know the innertwinings of my crazy, (sometimes boring) life. not that I expect everyone to rush right over here cause we all know this ain't 90210. :) well, my name is amy ..i'm a stay at home wife and mother of 3 beautiful kids. 2 girls 1 boy. ages 8, 4 and 3. YES it's busy. i also have a neurotic dog who hates my husband, and barks at anything that moves or makes noise. anyone want a mini-dachshund?? just kiddin'. I love him too much to give him up. besides, it would make my life absolutely TOO easy to have a dog that was not neurotic. I just turned the terrible ugly age of 30. yuck. i am one of those vein chicks who never wanted to say i was 30. i don't really know why, cause so far, it's not that much different than 29, only, now i NEVER get carded to go in a club or buy a beer. (which is not often) for those church friends of mine reading this. My 9th anniversary is at the end of this month. 9 years is a long time for all you naysayers who said we would not last. I'm not sayin' it's been all wine and roses..no no no..we all know that ain't the truth. I wouldn't trade it for the world..problems and all. I see my single friends and what they go through trying to meet a nice guy or girl, and all the heartaches trying to find the right person, and I realize how very blessed I am to be married, with a beautiful family, AND able to stay home and raise my kids. nope. wouldn't trade it. I guess I should stop at some point ..I gotta leave a little mystery. right?? Blessings to all :)
